Because Human Growth Hormone offers such dramatic results, many frauds and scams have sprung up especially online. Various companies are attempting to confuse or mislead consumers by posting articles and website landing pages with headings such as “The Truth About HGH“, “HGH Safety“, “Don’t Buy HGH Until You Read This” and others. Often times these websites are replete with fraudulent statements, misdirection to “HGH oral supplements” or exaggerated claims about what human growth hormone is.
Here are some of the more common HGH claims we have encountered:
Claim: Company claims to offer “highest potency” HGH formulation, claiming 1500 to 2000 nanograms (ng).
Fact: The amount of Human Growth Hormone that is FDA approved and used in prescription form is measured not in nanograms, but instead in international units or IU. 1500-2000 nanograms is about 1% of a standard prescription dose of HGH.
Claim: A company claims its HGH product is easily absorbed orally.
Fact: Human Growth Hormone cannot be put into an oral product. When taken orally, growth hormone is destroyed in the digestive tract immediately. If this hormone were to be digested, there are no studies proving that HGH is bio-available in an oral form.
The efficacy of HGH dates back to a 1990 article in the New England Journal of Medicine. A medical research team led by Daniel Rudman of the Medical College of Wisconsin gave regular growth hormone injections to a dozen men over the age of 60. At the end of the six-month treatment period, the human growth hormone test subjects had denser bones, thicker skin, less adipose fat and more lean body tissue, increased muscle mass. The research paper likened these effects to a reversal of “10 to 20 years of aging.”
Healthy people secrete growth hormone naturally throughout their lifespan, with the highest concentration of HGH coming during puberty at adolescence. HGH levels naturally fall off as people get older; a 60-year-old might produce half as much growth hormone as they did in their 20s. In 1996, the FDA approved human growth hormone for hormone replacement therapy for adults whose HGH production had fallen below normal levels. The medical health condition is known as Adult Growth Hormone Deficiency or AGHD
